Veterinary Dental Specialists in Your Community

At Veterinary Dental Specialists of Wisconsin, we believe it is important to get involved and understand that helping animals is a collaborative effort that extends to the broader community. By actively participating in community events, educational workshops, and outreach programs, we aim to raise awareness about the crucial role dental health plays in overall animal well-being.

By sharing our expertise and knowledge, we want to empower pet owners to take proactive measures to maintain their animals’ oral health, and ultimately enhance their quality of life. Through our dedication to community engagement, Veterinary Dental Specialists of WI exemplifies the interconnectedness of animal health and community well-being.

How We Get Involved in Our Local Wisconsin Community

2023 Greyhound Gala:

This past weekend our team volunteered at the 2023 Annual Greyhound Gala to raise money for Greyhound Pets of America-Wisconsin. We had a great time working with some beautiful greyhounds and raised hundreds of dollars to donate. Greyhound Pets of America is a nationwide nonprofit organization that strives to find the best homes for retired racing greyhounds. Many of these dogs will go through a foster home first, where they will become acclimated to things like patio doors and stairs. They are also spayed and neutered and taught manners as well as how to live in a home as a pet.

Did you know that greyhounds are especially prone to dental disease? Dental disease was the most common disease found in greyhounds according to the University of London Royal Veterinary College, with 39% affected.  In this breed, regular cleanings are important to prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar as well as periodontal disease.
