Learn Vet Dentistry (LVD) is a specialized educational platform focused on advancing the skills and knowledge of veterinary professionals in dentistry. Recognizing the critical role dental health plays in overall animal well-being, LVD was founded to address the gap in dental training often seen in general veterinary practice.
At LVD, the focus is on providing hands-on, practical education that equips veterinary technicians and assistants with the tools they need to excel in dental procedures. Our courses cover essential topics like dental radiography, proper instrument maintenance, scaling and polishing techniques, and effective anesthesia practices tailored specifically for dentistry.
What sets LVD apart is the emphasis on interactive and immersive learning experiences. Each course blends classroom instruction with laboratory practice, allowing participants to refine their skills in a controlled, low-pressure environment. This approach not only builds technical proficiency but also boosts confidence when applying these skills in a clinical setting.
Whether you aim to improve your radiographic accuracy, master sharpening dental instruments, or better understand dental pathology, LVD offers tailored education that directly impacts the quality of care you provide. By empowering veterinary professionals with advanced knowledge and skills, LVD helps create stronger teams, healthier patients, and more successful practices.
Investing in veterinary dentistry continuing education (CE) is essential for improving patient care, increasing efficiency, and building client trust. CE courses provide veterinary professionals with advanced skills in dental procedures, radiograph interpretation, instrument maintenance, and anesthesia protocols. These skills reduce complications and enhance overall workflow and patient outcomes.
Hands-on training is a key component of veterinary dentistry CE, with courses dedicating significant time to lab work. Technicians gain practical experience in radiograph positioning, instrument sharpening, and proper scaling and polishing techniques under expert guidance. These hands-on labs offer a low-pressure setting to troubleshoot, refine techniques, and build confidence, which is often difficult to achieve during routine clinical work.
Well-designed CE courses feature small, interactive class sizes, focused syllabi tailored to technician roles, and dedicated time for hands-on practice. These elements create an engaging and productive learning environment, ensuring that participants retain valuable knowledge and bring it back to their clinics.
By prioritizing veterinary dentistry CE, practices empower their teams to deliver superior care, reduce complications, and create a more efficient and rewarding workplace. In turn, this commitment benefits patients and clients and ensures the practice’s long-term success.

I am a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) and Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Dentistry and have dedicated over 15 years to advancing veterinary dental care. After earning my associate degree in animal science from the College of Southern Idaho in 2009, I began my career in general veterinary practice in Bozeman, Montana. Inspired by my work with board-certified veterinary dentist Dr. Tony Woodward, I pursued specialization in veterinary dentistry, earning my VTS credential in 2021.
Following my certification, I partnered with the Animal Dental Care group to establish Montana Pet Dentistry & Oral Surgery in Bozeman. I also played a key role in opening a second location in Missoula. My leadership and expertise have significantly expanded access to specialized veterinary dental care in Montana.
Now based in rural Arkansas with my fiancé, Travis, I focus on educating veterinary teams nationwide. I travel extensively within the Veterinary Dental Group Holdings network, providing hands-on training and continuing education to empower technicians in veterinary dentistry.
Outside work, I enjoy outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and exploring Arkansas’ natural beauty with my two dogs, Bled and Roo. My dedication to advancing veterinary dentistry and mentoring others ensures a lasting impact on animal health.
